New Outlook

Composite Photography

About

This was a composite photography assignment from my first term in the New Media and Web Development program at BCIT.  My objective was to create a visually stimulating image of a young man, in the near future, looking through a luxuriously wide bay-window with integrated computer technology.

Equipment

-Canon EOS 5D Mark II
-24-105mm Canon Lens

Photo #1 - The Subject and Foreground

This first photo was taken for the purpose of capturing the subject and the interior of the building.  The cloudy weather provided excellent soft lighting and spared me harsh shadows that would have made the composition difficult.

Camera Settings:
f/4.0
1/40 s
ISO 125

Add Reflection Photo

The second photograph of the subject, facing the opposite direction, is composed onto the window to resemble a transparent reflection.

The stairs and floor of the interior are also mirrored, to add some extra subtle reflections of the surrounding environment.
